DESCRIPTION

Designed for backcountry skiers and boarders, the Osprey Kamber 22 is the perfect size for spring backcountry tours or lift-accessed tours off the ski area. The innovative LightWire™ suspension system combines with a padded hipbelt to carry loads up to 25 pounds without sacrificing stability. Thermo-formed backpanel and contoured shoulder straps provide comfort and keep the pack stable when you’re ripping the steep and deep. A zippered panel allows easy access to all your gear while another large J-zip front panel pocket stores your avalanche probe and shovel for quick access when you want to dig a snow pit and access conditions. There’s also a built-in back pocket for a hydration reservoir that routes through the shoulder harness to prevent freezing. On the outside of the pack, you’ll find straps for multiple ski and snowboard carry options and an ice axe loop just in case you encounter firm conditions. All contact points are reinforced to minimize wear from metal edges. Other winter-specific features include a stowable helmet carry system, ice axe loop and a scratch-free goggle pocket. Glove friendly buckles and zippers poles let you keep your hands covered when you’re making the transition from skins to skis on a frigid January morning.

AVALANCHE GEAR STORAGE POCKET

Extra-large front pocket with J-zip access for avalanche safety gear secure inside the pack. The large pockets accommodate large shovel blades, and the dual center sleeves secure extra-long probes and shovel handles.

DRY POCKET ACCESS

The main dry compartment keeps gear that needs to stay dry and warm separate from wet avy gear and skins. The dry compartment is also designed to be accessible with skis or board attached to the pack.

HELMET CARRY

Awesome fit, versatility, and ease of access

1. The zippers and zipper holds on this bag are simply the best I have ever encountered. After years of dealing with frustrating zippers on various "outdoor" equipment, I was so pleased to discover that the Kamber 22 incorporates zipper loops that are easy to manipulate with or without gloves, and especially important - with one hand! The small "convenience" pocket at the top of the bag (for cell phone, change, etc.) is easy to open and close with one hand - very convenient when on the go. Really, really well-designed in this regard.

2. Super versatile. Literally the perfect bag for everything from skiing to city touring to even business travel. As an added bonus, this bag does not have the ridiculous tendency to tip over backwards when you set it down at an upright angle. Maybe I'm the only one who has experienced this issue, but every other backpack I've owned would constantly fall over. This one is like a Russian doll. It just stays upright, where you set it down. I like that a lot.

3. Finally, the size is awesome. 22 is big enough for a change of clothes, snacks and water, but small enough that it just fits without ever being bulky. Of particular importance to me, this bag is slim - it doesn't puff out on the sides or the back like most of TNF's bags. Length-wise, it comes just to the small of my back, exactly where it should fam for an active bag. I'm 6' for reference.
