Join Goochland’s Monthly Wood Carving Class: Carve Your Own Wood Wizard!

Are you looking for a creative, hands-on experience that brings your imagination to life? Look no further than Goochland’s free, community-based Whittling & Carving Class! Join us each month at the Central High School Complex for our Wood Wizards class—a fun, creative project perfect for all ages and skill levels.

Our welcoming instructor, Jeremy Parker, will guide you step-by-step as you learn the art of whittling. From knife safety to the finer points of shaping and detailing, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to carve your own miniature wizard out of wood. Whether you’re a beginner or have previous experience, this hands-on class will help you unlock your creativity and introduce you to a passionate community of woodcarvers.

Upcoming Class Details: All About Wood Wizards!

• Project: Carve your own whimsical Wood Wizard—great for kids and adults.
• Location: Central High School Complex Gym, first room on the right (look for signs!).
• Date & Time: Fourth Thursday of each month, two-hour class.
• All supplies and tools provided completely free, thanks to our sponsor NORTH RIVER OUTDOORS.
• Kids ages 8 and up are welcome (accompanied by an adult).

Safety is our top priority. All participants receive safety gloves and careful instruction before beginning. You’ll master safe, effective carving tool techniques and build your skills in a supportive environment. Children aged 8 and above must be accompanied by an adult to join the fun.

While there is no mandatory fee, donations are gratefully accepted via Venmo (@northriveroutdoors) or cash, helping us continue offering this valuable community event.
