The Leatherman Surge now has an replaceable hardened wire cutters in the jaws of the pliers. The plier jaws have also been redesigned to be stronger to allow more torque to be put on the handles without damage. Finally, the replaceable file uses standard t-shank attachment point so any hardware store jigsaw blade, file or cutting tool will fit the new Surge greatly expanding the possible uses.
