Kershaw 1955 Showtime Knife with SpeedSafe, Black

A NON-TRADITIONAL GENTLEMAN'S KNIFE

The Kershaw Showtime, designed by Todd Rexford, is not exactly a traditional “gentleman’s” knife. Which means that it could be exactly what the non-traditional gentleman is looking for.

With its 3-inch blade, the Showtime is a convenient size for pocket carry—whether you’re dressed up or down. The blade features a two-toned finish: black-oxide on the grinds and satin-polish on the flats. 8Cr13MoV stainless steel enables the Showtime's blade to take and hold its edge.

The Showtime opens elegantly with the built-in flipper and our SpeedSafe assisted opening. And there’s no thumb stud to interrupt the clean, streamlined looks.

The handle is steel, black-oxide coated, and contoured for a solid grip. A frame lock ensures secure lock up. The decorative hex pivot enhances the Showtime’s showoff good looks. The pocketclip is reversible for left- or right-handed carry and because it’s also a deep-carry clip, carrying is always discreet.

Good knife but sloppy finish

Came out of the box relatively sharp but, it couldve been a little better. overall fit and finish on this knife is pretty good. Great blade shape. Great size it disappears into your pocket. If you are looking for an alternative to the kershaw cryo than this is a good place to go. The finish is a finger print magnet. If that annoys you like it does me than carry a hank around because you will be wiping it down all day long. that piece of info is more of a preference thing because functionally this is a great knife. This has the speed safe assisted opening so it will snap open fast every single time with consistency like no other. I personally believe budget knives like these are perfect for speed safe. If you want no frills effective cutting tool than in my opinion speed safe is the best. Any ball bearing pivot will start costing more money and you really dont neeeeeed to have that.

A great bargain on a good knife

I like the ergonomics of the knife - it feels solid and might be a little surprisingly heavy for EDC. The blade is coated black with silver (uncoated) areas extending down, and I think it looks great. The blade steel is average at best - it doesn't seem to hold its edge very long, but it sharpens up pretty quickly though. I've had it a few weeks and have noticed that occasionally it won't open all the way to lock when I flick it. Whether a sign of a problem or just operator error is to be seen. It is the perfect size for my hand, and I really wanted something a touch smaller for carrying in my daily business casual work attire. So far, so good - it cuts well and looks good and seems a bargain for the price. I don't use the clip but haven't bothered to remove it yet. The lockup is strong with no play, and the jimping seems about right for the medium to light usage I expect to put it through.
