Kershaw Method Knife 1170

RUGGED, GENTLEMANLY, AND DEAD SEXY

This smaller pocketknife from Kershaw and Jens Ansø features a slim, 3-inch blade of 8Cr13MoV in our BlackWash™ finish. A top swedge adds to its eye appeal. The Method opens quickly, easily, and manually with our KVT ball-bearing system and a built-in flipper.

The handle is black—of course. The G10 handle features an unusual machined pattern reminiscent of an architectural truss. It not only looks good, but also offers additional grip security. A custom backspacer features Jens’ large lanyard attachment for those of you who prefer a lanyard, and adds a touch of style even if you’re the lanyard-free type. An inset liner lock keeps the weight down on the Method while still providing solid blade-lockup security. A single-position pocketclip (right, tip-up) enables the knife to sit securely inside your pocket.

How do we accomplish all this style and value in a smaller knife? By using the Kershaw manufacturing “Method,” of course.

Specifications

FlipperL May be used on either manual or assisted opening knives. The “flipper” is a protrusion on the back of the blade that the user can pull back on, or flip, in order to move the blade easily out of the handle.

Manual: There is no mechanical assist, such as SpeedSafe, used to open the folding knife. It opens the classic, old-school way.Inset

Liner Lock: A strip of stainless steel is riveted inside the knife’s handle—most commonly when the handle is a lightweight material. This enables us to create a slimmer, lighter knife, while still providing the strength and security of a locking liner.

Liner Lock: Locks the blade open during use; one side of the knife’s steel “liner,” the steel plate to which the handle scales are attached, moves into position behind the blade to securely lock it open.Reversible

Pre-drilled holes in the handle enable the user to change either the tip position or the side on which the knife carries.

I'm very happy with this knife

I'm very happy with this knife. I love the shape of it, and the blade deployment is super smooth. The G10 handle makes it very lightweight, and very pocketable. Definitely recommend.

Great little Light Duty EDC!

Great little knife for the money. Perfect size for EDC if you need something somewhat Light Duty. The deployment is right up there with the Fraxion (Same Designer) and it pops open quickly like it has a Spring Assist. The build quality is pretty good and everything seems really solid. I absolutely love the looks and blade shape on this little knife. It's also very light in the pocket, you'll forget its there. The only Cons I have are extremely minor. A. The standard 8cr13MOV Steel is pretty lackluster but it should be fine around the house or office. B. The Blade coating is like a Black Oxide which looks cool, and kind of "rustic" but it's a magnet for smears and fingerprints and tends to looks oily or greasy, yes I know it's a tool, and it shouldn't matter but I find myself constantly wiping the blade down regardless. C. The Blade is just slightly off center and I can't seem to correct it. All of these are extremely minor and shouldn't hinder anyone from picking one up.

Its ok

Soooo close to a sweet knife. Awesome blade shape, lightweight, smooth action. Only 2 issues I have, are the pocket clip, and the flipper. Pocket clip should be deep carry style, the knife rides high out of the pocket, really stiff. The flipper is to small, sticks out maybe an 1/8 inch, just barely enough space to grab it and flip it open.
