This is a cool new diagonal, pack-type messenger-bag version of our popular Defense Courier™ bag. The feature-set is almost identical, but this bag has a thick, air-mesh backed strap with a modular MOLLE front so it can be worn more like a pack. This makes it very comfortable for long excursions with heavy loads, and it can still be rotated to a side-bag or chest-pack orientation for quick access to gear. It can also be outfitted with a stabilizer strap, and the main opening is modified to help retain contents in a sideways orientation.

My first, rather large, disappointment is that Hazard 4 provides a width of 21" for this bag and says that it has a padded pouch for a laptop. PERFECT! I have a 17" laptop and that should fit without any issues, right? ...NOPE! My Sony Vaio is too wide for the padded laptop pocket. I don't understand, if you are going to produce a 21"-wide messenger bag - why limit the size of the laptop pocket???
The bag is well-made and is quite light. I am hopeful that the bag is able to last - as I am hard on gear and it is a lighter-weight material than what I am accustomed, to. As of right now, it is working like a champ and I'm totally digging it.
The Velcro field on the front - with the Hazard 4, PVC sewn-on patch - does not allow for a standard, U.S. flag patch to fit - without overlapping the Hazard 4 logo. Why can't you widen that just a bit? There is plenty of real estate on the face of this bag!
All-in-all, I really like this bag and enjoy the weight and size benefits - to my MPB! There are some really clever items on this bag and it shows that a lot of thought went into its design.
The padded laptop pocket is a rather large issue, for me. For that, I'm giving this bag a 3/5. Widen that, and I would easily give it a 5/5!
