Kershaw Spoke Knife 1313BLK is one sweet little knife!

With its blade length of just 2 inches, the new Kershaw Spoke is easy to take along with you just about anywhere. But even with such a compact blade, this knife is plenty useful. It slices through tasks quickly and easily because the Spoke's big belly provides plenty of cutting surface—even though the overall blade length is shorter.

The knife opens quickly and easily with SpeedSafe assisted opening and the built-in flipper. Slightly oversized, the flipper doubles as a finger guard when the blade is opened. The steel handle features an unusual textured pattern that also provides a solid grip on this smaller knife. Black-oxide coating gives it a great look and a sturdy liner lock secures the blade open during use.

The Spoke has a reversible, deep-carry pocketclip and a black-oxide coated blade stop

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Flipper - May be used on either manual or assisted opening knives. The “flipper” is a protrusion on the back of the blade that the user can pull back on, or flip, in order to move the blade easily out of the handle.

SpeedSafe® Assisted Opening -

Assists you to open any SpeedSafe® knife quickly and easily with a manual push on the thumbstud or pull back on the flipper; built into many Kershaw best sellers.

Liner Lock - Locks the blade open during use; one side of the knife’s steel “liner,” the steel plate to which the handle scales are attached, moves into position behind the blade to securely lock it open.

Reversible - Pre-drilled holes in the handle enable the user to change either the tip position or the side on which the knife carries.

Nice little knife

Nice little knife. However, it won't replace my EDC knife (Spyderco Ambitious). I like the small form factor, you can get a 3 finger grip on it. However, I find the metal body makes it slippery when your hands are greasy/wet. The closing mechanism is difficult to reach unless you have a good nail length on your finger. I do like the quick-release and the pocket clip. It's heavy for its size, I weighed the knife at 86 grams. Compared to my larger Spycerco which weighs 83 grams. This knife will go in the glovebox or my photography bag as a backup.

This little knife is an overachiever

This little knife has some heft to it, and fits the hand very well with a three finger grip. For fine control I grip the blade with my index finger and thumb, and the handle with the other three fingers. If one hand is occupied holding something, this knife deploys and retracts with the other hand. It comes out of the pocket and deploys in one fluid motion, and retracts and repockets just as easily. I never notice the knife when I carry it, but it's always there when I need it. The Pocket clip keeps the knife out of the way, and with a little tuning, allows you to hook the knife with your middle finger and slide it out of the pocket where your waiting index finger can flick the blade open.

Good small knife to add to an EDC pouch

This is a nice knife in a smaller size that works well when you need to carry a smaller knife. Very lightweight, the knife is easy to open. Closing the knife is smooth after an initial "sticking point". I heated up the entire blade, added a layer of frog lube paste, allowed it to dry and permeate the metal for about an hour, wiped it clean and since then the action has been smooth for both opening and closing.

Though a bit small for me for every day carry, it's a good option to keep in an EDC kit.
