154CM: An American made premium grade stainless steel originally developed for tough industrial applications. Known for its best all-around qualities, it offers great corrosion resistance with good toughness and edge quality.

AXIS® A patented Benchmade exclusive, AXIS has been turning heads and winning fans ever since its introduction. A 100-percent ambidextrous design, AXIS gets its function from a small, hardened steel bar which rides forward and back in a slot machined into both steel liners. The bar extends to both sides of the knife, spanning the liners and positioned over the rear of the blade. It engages a ramped, tang portion of the knife blade when it is opened. Two omega style springs, one on each liner, give the locking bar it’s inertia to engage the knife tang, and as a result the tang is wedged solidly between a sizable stop pin and the AXIS bar itself.

Amazing knife

This knife has amazed me in every way. First off, it came extremely sharp out of the box, it effortlessly sliced an Arby's receipt in two. And after 6 months of daily use, it still takes the hair off my arm. Some people say the handle feels cheap, but not so much to me, it doesn't look fancy, but cheap is not how I would describe it. The handle, although it is plastic, feels great in your hand, it is very comfortable and ergonomic.
The assist mechanism on this knife is a blast to use. The blade swings out very fast and locks firmly with an intimidating click, wich can only be compared to sending the bolt home on your ar.
The blade is very strong with no wobble and it ends in one of the most beautiful drop points I have ever seen, it is thick where it needs to be thick, and thin where it needs to be thin. It can be used as anything from a box cutter to an axe.
Benchmade chose an exelent steel when making this knife, the 154cm really makes this knife what it is. It's easily sharpened, yet holds a blade incredibly well. There is no aspect of this knife I dislike, it has far exceeded my expectations and continues to impress me. I would highly recommend this knife to you, you will not be disappointed.

Quality tool.

'm a fan. It's a bigger knife than I was used to. The mechanism took some getting used to but is very solid and reliable. I wasn't sure about the composite grip at first but it is very light and of a good texture. So very sharp and stays that way, Would I buy it again, yes. I just hope I don't have to.

My favorite benchmade so far!!!

As for my initial impressions I'm blown away! This thing is big! I have big hands and it fits them very well... Also the blade grind kinda reminds me of an italian Stiletto which I love! The blade flips out with some serious authority! The one things I love about this knife is the lock up... This thing is like a vault.... I have a grip and a mini grip that both have blade play when open and in the handle. This thing has NONE what so ever. Came sharp just as all benchmades do. This is for sure my new everyday carry. The one down side I can see is there is almost no grip on the handle.. Also I most likely wont be bringing this on any camping trips because of the assisted opening and how other people have had theirs fail... For out doors ill take my full sized griptillian just for simplicity and their isn't really anything that can fail on a grip. All said and done... Buy it! For the price, blade steel and benchmade quality this thing is unbeatable!!! BUY IT NOW!!!!
