Really like the concept and form factor, being in CA. Only reservations are that the blade grind was not “smooth” from tip to choil—imagine a very small, slight but noticeable change in the edge, the way a Tanto has an abrupt discontinuity, but of course much, much more subtle. Also, the bevel was a little steep, would’ve liked to see 15-17 dps. Lastly, the machining between the main body of the blade and the pivot thins down or narrows the amount of steel in that section, which is a little worrisome.
However, this is a Protech, so I’m trusting in their many years and positive reputation of making autos, their lifetime warranty, and their customer service (have dealt positively with Derek and Dave before, on my Mordax)! And Protech has managed to keep their pricing reasonable, compared to some other high end USA-made knives!
