The TOPS Tom Brown Tracker Scout is a great companion knife to the Tom Brown Tracker knife. It is a small, drop point knife that is outstanding all by itself, but when paired with the Tracker, it can handle smaller, lighter tasks for which the Tracker may be too large. Make no mistake however, The Tracker Scout is a great knife for EDC work that can also be used in tactical situations. It is easily concealed and deployed, makes a great knife for the campsite, and of course, pairs perfectly with the original Tom Brown Tracker.

Best EDC fixed knife I've ever owned!

The Scout came almost razor sharp straight from the factory ... sharp enough to cut smooth lines through paper and certainly sharp enough for camp use. I would have only needed to sharpen it a bit more if I wanted to shave my face with it ... that is how crazy sharp it was when I got it.

There is a bit of jimping on the back of the blade so your thumb has a good spot to rest and control the blade when processing wood or doing delicate cutting tasks. There are also two holes near the middle of the blade in case you want to attach the Scout to a stick with some paracord or other string and make a field spear.

Speaking of field use, I wouldn't hesitate to use this knife as my primary camp knife even though it isn't particularly big. I went on a camping trip a couple of weeks ago and two buddies of mine couldn't get one log to split for firewood even though they had two different camping axes and spent about two minutes trying to get this one log to split. I walked up with my little Scout knife and another small log and was able to baton that big log into small firewood in a few seconds.

This is one hell of a great knife even if it isn't big and intimidating.

I can go on and on about how amazing this little knife is but it's really hard to appreciate just how great this knife is until you've held it in your hands and used it.
