Solo Stove Titan 2-4 Person stove is a natural convection, inverted downgas gasifer stove with double-wall construction that yields efficient wood-burning camp stove cooking.

The air intake holes on the bottom of the stove channels air to the bottom of the fire while at the same time, channels warm air up between the walls of the stove. This burst of preheated oxygen feeding back into the firebox through the smaller holes at the top of the stove causes a secondary combustion. This allows the fire to burn more complete which is why there is very little smoke during full burn. A more efficient burn also means you'll use much less wood compared to an open camp fire. The Solo Stove Titan doesn't just burn wood. It actually cooks the smoke out of the wood and then burns the smoke not once, but twice!

The Solo Stove Titan also features a heat shield between the ash pan and the bottom of the stove. This heat shield protects the ground under the stove from scorching. The cooking ring's angled lip also increases efficiency by directing heat towards your pot minimizing heat loss. It also acts as a windshield while still allowing oxygen to flow inward. The Solo Stove Titan is indeed one of the most efficient wood burning stoves you'll ever own.

Review after a 4 day backpacking trip

This was one of the most important things used on our backpacking trip. It was very lightweight. I love the fact that I could pick up sticks around our campsite and use those for fuel rather than carry my fuel in. I would be the first one up in the morning and, therefore, the designated water-boiler. I started by collecting tinder, small sticks and med-small sticks, broke them in stove-sized pieces and piled them up beside my "kitchen" area. I then set the stove on a flat rock or cleared, flat forest floor. I used a small fire starter log, dryer lint and matches to get things started. It didn't take long at all. Once the fire starts and looks like it can burn for awhile, I set the full companion pot on top. I noticed right away that it tends to smother the fire, so I pushed it slightly to the side to allow the fire to "breathe". The problem with this is that the flames sneak out from under the pot, so the area must be safely cleared so as to not start the forest on fire! This is the only "complaint" I have about the stove/pot set. I meant to time how long it takes to actually boil water on this stove, but forgot every single time! "A watched pot never boils", right? Seems that way! I had to babysit this stove to make sure it didn't get dumped, that the fire kept going, and to make sure the flames didn't get the handle too hot. Once the fire was out it cooled surprisingly quickly with a very small amount of ashes. All in all a very good product!

Solo Titan and 14cm Zebra

Construction is solid, and the burn is incredibly efficient. A 1 inch by 3 foot hardwood branch provides enough fuel to boil some water and cook a meal. I pair the Solo TITAN with a 14 cm Zebra pot, and the fit is perfect. I simply remove the inner tray, place it upside-down on top of the lid, and the handle locks the Solo, tray, and lid in place!
