Kershaw Link Folding Pocket Knife 1776 3.25"

SLEEK, LIGHTWEIGHT MODELS OFFER KERSHAW QUALITY AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE.

The missing link—between a quality, made-in-the-USA knife and a price most consumers can afford—has been found. Or, to be more precise, Kershaw is making it. Appropriately, we call it the Link and have given it the patriotic model number of 1776.

This Link, model 1776, is our drop-point blade model. The 420HC stainless blade steel has higher amounts of carbon and chromium to boost hardenability and corrosion resistance. It is an excellent everyday steel: tough, corrosion resistant, easy to sharpen and takes a good edge. A stonewashed finish gives the blade surface a desirable roughened or scuffed look, and helps hide scratches and fingerprints.

The handles are matte-finished glass-filled nylon for lightweight strength. The sculpted lines and texture of the handle provide for a comfortable and secure grip. The Link feels big and solid in the hand and offers a clean look.

For easy opening, the Link is equipped with SpeedSafe assisted opening, accessed with the built-in flipper. The pocketclip is reversible for convenient left or right-handed pocket carry. The Link is made in Kershaw’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Tualatin, Oregon.

Locking mechanism was flawed on the one I received.

Having a few similar Kershaw Chinese made speedsafe knives, (1605 and 1830 with perfect locking mechanisms) I was looking forward to getting this USA version. In the end, I had to return it for a refund.
The blade definitely feels heavier and stronger than the Chinese versions but the knife had one major flaw. When opened in the locked position the blade had a slight amount of play forward and back. This slight movement would also cause the slide lock to flex just slightly towards the left, towards the unlock position. If I cannot be 100% confident in the locking mechanism of a pocket knife I will not use it. It only takes one failure of the lock to slice into your fingers. I'm sure this was a simply quality control issue on this particular knife so I will probably buy another one in the future and see if it is manufactured better than this one.

Nice knife at a great price. Made in USA!!!

I really love how the blades on these look. It's not a very long blade but the width looks substantial. Not sure that I'll carry it around every day. I could see how it might look intimidating to non-knife people. It's inexpensive and its made in USA! I read that the aluminum Links weigh a ton but this one didn't feel too heavy at all. Perfect weight to size ratio. Feels real good in the hand. Wish they had one with GFN scales with a higher quality blade steel. Blade was slightly off center. I had to loose the pivot screw to straighten it. For what you pay for this knife you're getting a quality tool for sure.
