The Hults Bruk Akka Forester’s Axe is a perfect companion for the wilderness and clearing forest trails. This Axe is from the oldest Axe company in the World Since 1697.

The Akka features a long, curved 24” American hickory handle paired with a 1.5 lb. axe head for exceptional leverage and power in a lightweight package. The straight knife-ground edge and finger notch near the neck make carving tasks a joy. With a total weight of just 2.2 lbs. the Akka is is ideal for overnight wilderness trips and fantastic for clearing forest trails.

The axe head is hand-forged and made from Swedish axe steel in a foundry that has been in operation since 1697.

As part of the hand grinding production process, the steel is struck multiple times thereby increasing its density and resulting in more durability of the axe.

The head is constructed in such a way that there is a tempered zone designed to hold a very sharp edge even after many sharpenings.

The straight hickory handle is treated with linseed oil.

Each axe comes with a traditional leather protective sheath that is embellished with some unique Swedish decorative elements. (Replacement sheaths are available) The axe is shipped in its own storage box and comes with a detailed users manual.

Hults Bruk Akka Forest Axe

Pretty disappointed in this axe. Was hoping it had a longer blade face for chopping. Also the blade is not parallel with the ax handle as I've seen in other reviews. This makes me think accuracy and energy will be wasted in my swing with this ax. Also like the last Holts Brooke I ordered the handle seems to be unfinished rough needing to be sanded down and have some kind of coating put on it to protect it from the elements. For a $160 ax I would think it would be much better quality and much more in line with needing nothing done to it. But as is I will have to rework the blade to get it in line with the ax handle along with a good sanding and coating to protect it. I would have to agree with other reviews you could probably get a similar ax for a better price. As is I would not recommend this to anyone else

Now I know what quality feels like

It's deceptively light, yet amazingly effective. One handed this thing is a better splitter than my 3.5 pound head box store axe (not specifically a splitter, just a general purpose). It doesn't hurt my shoulders to swing it for hours, my hands don't mind either. I believe the key is in the geometry of the impacting edge, which brings me to my only minor, and really insignificant gripe. In order to get the thing to stick into a round to hold the axe (like every other axe we ever had), you really have to hit it, which is nothing more than a learning curve.

The cover it comes with is excellent.

According to the manufacturer, the axe head does indeed have a lifetime warranty. That alone made the investment worth every penny.

Would definitely buy another.

Hults Bruk Akka Foresters Axe

The Akka is an extremely high quality axe that comes razor sharp and useable right out of the box. The handle is nice and thin and the perfect combination of smooth and grip. The head is light, but it bites deep with the nearly flat convex edge. The extra 5" of handle is a huge advantage over the GB Small Forest Axe with out giving anything up when you choke up on the handle for carving. This axe chops far bigger than its size. I believe it's the perfect pack axe.

The hang is not perfect but it is extremely solid so I can't complain.

Hults Bruk Akka Forester's Axe

Hults Bruk makes outstanding axes, in their premium line anyway. This is easily as good as any of my Gransfors Bruk axes, and better in some ways. The forging is beautifully done, head fits well and tight on the handle, which is of perfect thickness. The sheath is very sturdy and has a welt to protect the bit edge.
