Great backpack

Full time student, laptop compartment is very well padded on both sides and holds a 2014 retina macbook pro 15" with room to spare on top and ample room on sides. Side water bottle pockets held normal/narrow water bottle up to 3" diameter but would not hold my 32oz. nalgene water bottle with a 3.5" diameter. Waist belt is removable and it is a high quality belt that I've added a few modular pouches to use as a runners belt. I'm a full time college student and all my prior packs weren't large enough but this is the first pack that swallows everything with room to spare - my macbook, 3 notebooks, 1 binder, dry erase board, 2 textbooks (1.5" & 2" thick) and all my chargers, power bricks, cables, cords, pencils and pens and still has room to add more items. This backpack is longer than normal backpacks so with all my stuff packed inside I can still stuff my jacket or my empty 32oz nalgene bottle on top of everything else already packed in there. Back is padded, rigid and offers great support and has air channels to allow air flow so it won't get abnormally hot on warm days. I've been able to fit 2 notebooks inside the smaller compartment right in front of the main compartment. Theres an abundance of molle webbing for additional pouches and plenty of straps for adjusting the fit of the pack and they're all finished with velcro so theres nothing dangling loose. Compression straps on the side help tighten things up and can compact it extremely well when not carrying a full load.

Hazard 4 Patrol Pack Thermo Cap

I was previously using a condor urban go pack, but wanted something smaller for for my EDC. The padded bladder/laptop pocket fits my work laptop very well (15" retina macbook pro). I keep a Slappa headphone case in there (very bulky) and a tenkeless mechanical keyboard, along with a grid-it filled with all my cables and power accessories. Without the headphone case in there, this compresses to laptop bag / briefcase size.
My only gripe is that the very top compression straps, when buckled, prevent you from opening the laptop pocket all the way. It's a minor inconvenience to have to unbuckle those two straps before getting my laptop out.
