Gransfors Bruk Mini Belt Hatchet #410

The Gränsfors Small Mini Hatchet is the lightest of all the axes from Gränsfors Bruk, making it perfect for hiking, when every kilo counts. The axe is excellent for limbing and splitting firewood, despite its diminutive size. The Small Hatchet was developed by Lennart Pettersson (LP), axe smith, knife smith and keen angler, who was looking to create a very light axe that still retained that axe feel. The slightly rounded poll functions like a ‘priest’ (used to hit fish over the head).

Each Gransfors Axe head is hand-forged from high quality Swedish steel that is honed, tempered & annealed to the perfect hardness by the experienced Gränfors Bruk Swedish Smiths who stamp their initials on the head. Each Gransfors axe is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece you'll treasure for years to come.

this hatchet is excellent

this hatchet is excellent if you want one that will fit in your back pocket.it is tiny! but it performs far better than you would think.I paid 45 bucks for mine when they were selling new for right at a hundred.personally, i think the price on these has gone up into the area of ridiculousness. but i'm a poor white boy, others with money to spend without flinching will buy one....no-one in my group of two friends would even think of paying half the asking price now. but it is a hand-made work of art!

Tools as works of art

I own one of these hatchets, and it is without a doubt the finest quality tool i have ever held in my hand.
The forging is immaculate, and gives off a distinct "old world" feeling. This is not an American axe which has been ground on all sides to correct the forging - this axe has been forged to perfection, and zero shaping is done on all Gransfors Bruk axes. The steel has a beautiful carbonized look to it on the surface, and this is all preserved.
The handle is also top grade. Hickory which has been oiled and rubbed with beeswax, it feels smooth yet slightly tacky in the hand - perfect. The handle on mine is also very straight, with almost zero twist along the length of the handle.
Obviously, this also cuts wood very well.
