Gerber Gator Fillet Knife - 6.1" - Fine Edge - Clip Point - 420 High Carbon Stainless Steel

Getting your hands on the optimal fillet knife can be as daunting as winter steel-head in Pacific Northwest rivers. That is, unless you're acquainted with Gerber's Gator Fillet knife, available in four lengths. This sleek demon of a knife can make even the rawest rookie look like an old pro at the cutting board. The Gator Fillet is the fin-snappin epitome of masterful craftsmanship in knife-making. With a full tang stainless steel blade. And Gerber's patented Gator Grip handle. So it feels good in your hand, whether the conditions are wet or dry. Okay, maybe not as good as when that big one strikes your line. But still... And one more thing: The Gator Fillet comes complete with a hard-molded sheath and built-in ceramic sharpener, so you can do your fillet thing right there on the dock or on shore. Fresh caught fish deserve only the finest, right? Right.

I'd buy another.

Great quality fillet knife for my Northern-Minnesota fishing needs. The blade has the perfect amount of flex and the relatively tacky grips are very useful. My only complaint pertains to the sharpness of the blade. The blade was usable out of the box. However, I certainly would expect something much sharper from Gerber. I'm certain I can get a nice edge on the knife with a little work. The sheath has a built in sharpener for quickly touching-up your blades during fish cleaning. A very useful and convenient idea.
