The Camp-Lore Series was developed to answer the demand for traditional, basic, bushcraft knives. The designers of this knife series come from unique backgrounds and experiences, with each considered to be one of the best in their field. All of the Camp-Lore knives are simple, traditional, fixed blade designs that have been field-proven for years. Keeping with that simplistic approach, ESEE builds the Camp-Lore line in the USA utilizing 1095 carbon steel blades and removable Micarta handles. Each Camp-Lore knife comes with a USA made traditional pouch sheath using leather supplied by one of the oldest tanneries in North America.

When it comes to wilderness chores, sometimes simple and straightforward is the best approach. The ESEE Camp-Lore PR4 is Patrick Rollins' take on Horace Kephart's classic design. The original prototype was made by James Gibson and tested extensively by Patrick during survival classes, off-trail backpacking, hiking, and camping. The Rowen built production PR4 features a 4.19" blade with a 4.75" handle, 0.125" thick 1095 high carbon steel blade, 90-degree spine for striking a Ferro rod and a leather drop sheath. It may not be pretty but it is designed to work, like all the other ESEE Knives.

WARRANTY:
ESEE knives are made with absolute attention to detail using the finest raw materials and care during the manufacturing process. We stand behind our knives with a 100% unconditional lifetime guarantee. If your ESEE knife should ever break, we will repair or replace it. This warranty follows the knife throughout its life, anywhere in the world.

Maintenance:
ESEE knives made from high carbon 1095 steel will rust and stain if not properly cared for, especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. Take the time to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using ballistol oil on the blade. Use Lock Tite when assembling any hardware, such as attaching the clip plate to the sheath.

I’m extremely picky on anything I buy. I usually research the item for a year before I get it and I’m glad I bought this. The knife is extremely durable feeling in the hand and the leather holster is actually nice and not some cheap piece of junk. The blade is stout and the way the grips are mounted to the tang is solid. The grips also feel very very nice in the hand. If you hold this knife you wil buy it! And this is the best place to buy anything from they are easy to deal with!

Great knife, tragic scales

I really wanted to love this knife. On paper, the specs are great for an all around field knife. Finally, ESEE gave us a 90 degree spine. Finally, a patina instead of the usual black coating. The problem is that the scales are WAY too thin. Just feels slippery/insecure/dead in the hand. It's a highly textured G-10 handle that feels waxy. Really kills what could have been a great knife. If they had just put their normal canvas micarta handles on instead, in a broomstick shape like their new HM models, THAT would have been fantastic and maybe the best ESEE imaginable. So close, yet so far!

Maybe the best knife I have ever owned!

I have owned many knives, but this one maybe the best I have ever owned. Perfect size for a primary field knife. Light weight, great feel in the hand and well balanced. Razor sharp rite out of the box.
