Where did the name IZULA come from?

The locals in Peru call the meanest, nastiest ant of the jungle by the name "Isula". We know it as the Bullet Ant. The Bullet Ant is known to be independent, tough, light on its feet, and a real aggressive survivor - the IZULA knife is built the same way. This knife is designed to be the perfect lightweight survival kit or concealed carry knife.

ESEE, for true "outdoors" people

Bought this for my 7 yo. She is ready for her own outdoor knife. I trust ESEE brand knives for duty related tasks as well as my outdoor tasks. The ability to hold a razor edge after batoning wood, become a makeshift pry bar, spear, survival, and/or utility tool all in one package is where ESEE stands alone in the knife world. I have the KABARs, MORAs, SOGS, CRKT, Benchmade, Kershaw, etc blades. For a knife you want to stake your life on, I place my bet on ESEE. The grip was a bit thin for her hand so I added a simple stryder wrap around the handle. She got right to it by going and starting a fire with a ferro rod. I own the ESEE 3 and 5 as well and am never disappointed in the quality.

It's a knife.

As advertised. It's pretty sharp and the included sheath fits well on the cross strap of my bag and fits neatly under a cellphone pouch making it nearly invisible when I carry it around. Handle is pretty thin for a guy with big hands such as myself but I wrapped some paracord around it and the grip is much improved. ESEE does, however, sell a handle you can attach to the knife separately should you not want potentially life saving paracord with your knife at all times.

ESEE Izula Knives

This knife seriously outperforms my expectations. The edge retention is far greater than I expected it to be. the Izula is VERY light. Without any handle scales, the Izula can be easily carried everyday and not really stick out as a "scary knife" by others. This knife is pretty close to perfect.
