This is the latest version of the pack that started it all, the legendary Just One. As in, "if you're going to own just one hunting pack, own a Just One." It's extremely versatile, with the hallmark patented features that make Eberlestock packs unique. Starting at an ultra-compact 2300 cubic inches, it expands to 4600 with its built-in Cam Expansion system. Add a Super Spike Duffel's 2900 cubic inches, and you get a 7500 cubic inch load hauler (Spike Duffels sold separately).

The J34 features a built-in hunting rifle-sized Backscabbard, Cam Expansion, streamlined shape, vertically adjustable torso length, waterproof zippers, a high-visibility interior, deep "3D" ventilated padding, scabbard drainage and cleanout access. Strategically placed Padlock Webbing (MOLLE) allows you to mount accessories, and makes excellent perimeter lash points.

Not for Big Loads Over Long Distances

Great pack. I've used it for some pretty big hunts and hauled a lot of weight with it. Very quality. I like the built in scarab, compression straps and all of the extras you can add (I have the spike camp duffle, butt-bucket and the reversible rain cover). I like how compact you can shrink it down to and then how large it can go.
I have a few beefs with it. In rain or snow, the gun scarab actually fills up, because there is no drain or included cover. The scarab also fills up with needles when you walk under pine trees. You cannot access the main side pockets or even the little pouches for drinks and what not unless you take off the pack and undo the compression straps (very annoying). It carries a little low for my taste, but the compression straps help keep weight higher. The waste belt could use some engineering. It rubbed a huge blister in my back on a big hunt (60-70 pounds over 15 miles). I'm not the only person I know the waste straps on this bag have messed with. The other guy said he'll never put his on again.
Great bag for smaller hunts and OK if you just need it to haul out quarters (elk or moose). Not a top quality back-country bag, but for those you'll be paying 3 x's the price. Great bag for its price range.
