From the CRKT website: ... Jesper Voxnaes from Loegstrup, Denmark, designed the Amicus™ Compact to excel in the outdoors. So he tested it in some of the toughest conditions he could find - the fjords and forests in his own backyard. Now it's ready for whatever harsh, brutal conditions nature dishes out for you.
The word amicus means friend or comrade. And with a strong full-flat grind, this 3" Tanto shaped blade is there when you need it. This folder is impressively capable for its size, acting like a horde, cutting through everything - be it big jobs, fine tasks, and anything in between.
An ergonomically designed handle provides a secure grip in any position. The sturdy frame lock gives you confidence if open while rowing up to a pending village. This, combined with protruding back spacers and deep grooves, makes it easy to get a strong hold on this compact knife even when you're wearing gloves. Which on raging waters or in the rainy outdoors is often.

Centering and grind were not perfect, but on a factory knife that's a rarity. Easy to correct on both counts. It's on the heavy side but has excellent ergonomics and is hell for stout. No side to side or vertical blade play.An excellent working mans knife. Lockup was about 30% out of the box, seems to be breaking in nicely. A number 2 pencil on the engagement surface and some 3 in 1 oil on the washers were all that was required for silky smooth operation. Overall, I'm pleased. My favorite from crkt by far.
