Nice knife, bad flipper, modified to make it easier

Not a fan of the way the thumb flipper works. Having to push the thumb in towards the blade at the same time as trying to flip it open is just not a good design in my opinion if for no other reason than it makes it a right hand only knife. Also, the flipper rattles since it needs to move around. I do like the knife itself so decided to modify it to better fit my needs. I disassembled the knife and filed off the little nub that acts as the lock.

CRKT Argus Linerlock Knife

I really like the construction of this knife and the feel. The aluminum construction gives the knife a much more substantial feel than plastic handled knives. I own a couple other assisted open knives (SOG brand) and this is by far the best constructed. It only took a few tries to get the hang of opening it and I believe that the reviewers that complained must not have handled many of this type of knife. I have been carrying a pocket knife of one type or another for 35 years and I can say that this is one of the best I have ever owned,

I really like the locking mechanism because it is much better than the other assisted open knives I own in terms of functionality. I am not concerned about this one accidentally opening in my pocket and it is much easier to deploy quickly if need be because there is not an additional safety catch.

The only minor complaint that I have is that I had to hone the blade to get it razor sharp. It had a fairly sharp cutting edge but it was not as sharp as I like the blades that I carry.

I do not believe that you can go wrong with this knife and in my opinion it is well worth the price. I will definitely be purchasing more CRKT products in the future.
