Condor Village Parang Machete CTK41912HC is proudly designed by Joe Flowers, an expert in primitive living, specifically for Condor and you can believe when he is in the deep Amazonian rainforest he will take it with him. And you should, too. The hefty 12" German 1075 high carbon steel blade has been heat-treated and annealed to a 56 Rockwell hardness, so you can depend on it getting the job done. The blade also has that signature Condor Classic finish. The design includes hard wood of Central America which was used to craft the durable handle and it is finished with a smooth grip. A handcrafted welted leather sheath completes this package.

The bad reference from the History Channel aside, this machete is a decent blade. Got it for my bride (yeah, she's all mine, I got lucky) at her request. Blade is tempered, springy, SHARP. I would expect to pay the price of this machete for just the very well made sheath that is heavy, high quality, rigid leather with an internal silicone blade guard that prevents the very sharp blade from cutting the stitching. Handle is comfortable and indexes in my hand nicely. Have not hacked through any bamboo forests yet and would want to use it for an extended period before carrying it into the wild, but even if you needed to modify the handle, at this price, you can't beat it.
