Alps Mountaineering Escape Chair

This chair is perfect. It is extremely comfortable and provides great support. The foot rest adjusts relatively easily and makes it a good fit for tall and short people. I was slightly hesitant because of some reviews stating it was difficult to get in and out of the chair with the foot rest attached and also difficult to detatch the footrest completely. These are both false.

The footrest comes off VERY easily in 2 steps: First unclip the straps then unscrew the supprts from the base. No tools required; it is a plastic ball-and-socket joint unscrewed by hand. It reattaches just as easily.

As for getting in and out of the chair with the footrest attached it is again VERY easy. The support legs form an X which means there is plenty of room for your feet and legs to touch the ground without having to remove the footrest. Just stand up like you do every day from any chair.

I purchased two of these chairs and took them camping. We loved them.
