Gerber Impromptu Tactical Pen
Gerber Impromptu Tactical Pen
Danger has a way of presenting itself when you least expect it. That’s why Gerber, in collaboration with law enforcement professionals, developed the Impromptu Tactical Pen. Sure, it’s a pen and it’ll serve to take notes like a good pen should, but it’s not your average writing implement. Made from machined steel with a tempered window-shattering tip design, the Impromptu Tactical Pen can be used to break a windshield or defend yourself from an unexpected attack.
MULTIUSE, MADE IN THE USA
The Impromptu Tactical Pen combines Gerber’s decades of experience crafting tools with valuable input from police officers to offer a utilitarian tool that could quite literally be your ticket to safety. During interviews, officers agreed that the most important tool you can carry is the item that happens to be in your hand, which more often than not turns out to be a pen. So Gerber designed a pen that can write in all conditions and is rugged enough to handle the unexpected. This USA-made, push-button pen features a “Rite in the Rain” ballpoint pen cartridge that is effective in wet and dry conditions, and the tool’s machined steel body is stout enough to rise to the unexpected call of duty.
FITS YOUR DAILY ROUTINE
Sure it’s stout, but it fits easily into your pocket like an ordinary pen and will become part of your daily routine, on the job and off. Whether you’re in your vehicle or responding to a call in the field, it’s easy to make the Tactical Pen part of your routine equipment. But unlike an ordinary ballpoint pen, this one will be there when you need more than just a writing implement.

If you're the kind of person who likes to be prepared, this might be the kind of pen you have in mind. It's a color that's professional, has a tool steel bit, and is made of durable material. What it's lacking is jagged gripping edges, little spear points, knife blades, DNA collecting bezels, or whatever other weapon features that SWAT wannabes keep paying money for. This tactical pen is really just a pen that they changed the materials in and added one or two features in ways that doesn't make it look too weapon like. The resulting product is a pen that functions better as a pen than a good portion of other tactical pens and doesn't have people screaming every time you pull it out to sign something, but will still perform the functions that one would want from a tactical pen. Only problem is that at first the clicker might be prone to getting stuck at first, but that's nothing that a few drops of WD40 and a little break in time didn't fix. Thinking about buying one as a gag gift to a friend whose tactical pen got him a trip down to the Albany Police Department.
