Pronounced "Hoonglas" and named after the Colombian Jungla Special Operations Forces. This knife was designed For Latin American Jungle And Counter-Narcotics Operations.

The ESEE Junglas machete features a 10.38" textured black powder coated 1095 high carbon steel full tang blade. Removable canvas micarta handles with hammer pommel and lanyard hole. Black molded Kydex sheath with Cordura backing adjustable retainer, pommel cover and lashing holes. Cordura backing has MOLLE compatible strapping. While 1095 is a top choice for professional cutlery designed for hard use, it will rust and stain if not proper cared for--especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH.

ESEE ® Knives has a no-questions-asked lifetime guarantee against blade and handle breakage. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, coatings, cosmetics, edge chipping / dulling, or sheathing. Machetes are considered a professional tool. Anyone purchasing a machete should already know how to properly use and maintain this tool. Due to the thin design, machetes are not designed to be used with a baton or as a prying tool.

but after a short time I got very used to the size and how useful it is

At first it seems a little bulky, but after a short time I got very used to the size and how useful it is. Replaces an camp axe and most other knives you think you need in the bush. Batoning, fuzz sticks, cutting rope. Keeps a terrific edge. Only problems were a little rusting of the logo and the belt loop will deteriorate after a time, I’d say it’d be best to get a teklok belt clip to go with it and you are going to want to hit the screws on the sheath with some locktite or risk losing them.

Get it.....made well in the USA.

These ESEE knives are the quality I expect when I buy Made in the USA.
Didn't need it, at least I didn't THINK I needed it, thought about it.... thought about it some more, decided if I had to take a knife to a gun fight, well, this would be the one to take, you could hide behind it until the time was right......Really glad I got it!
it has been properly put through its paces here in the Beartooth Mountains in Montana and I still just like picking it up and hefting it. While it may not be a fighting knife this knife could help you survive to fight another day. Very impressive tool.....

It's a beast and does the job well

One of the best machete out there. Like the feel of the macarta handles and the hammer pommel . Useful in the field. You can't go wrong with an ESEE.
